Description
This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to identify dust hazards and implement appropriate prevention and mitigation strategies. It includes training in fire safety and methods of extinguishment.

This course is suitable for those persons who work in environments where dust hazards are commonly found.

Pre-entry Requirements
Students must be physically capable of participating in the practical activities and demonstrate a basic level of language, literacy and numeracy.

Delivery Methods
The course content will be delivered in a classroom environment using PowerPoint presentations, video, group discussion and a number of demonstration and skill building activities.
Students will also undertake a practical task involving an inspection and review of current procedures for handling hazardous substances. A final quiz will be administered to test overall understanding of the concepts taught during the course.

Notes
All of our courses are tailored to site policies and procedures.
Appropriate clothing is to be worn when attending training including long pants, long shirts and enclosed footwear. PPE specified by the workplace is also to be worn.
