Description
This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to perform a rescue from a low voltage panel. Participants will also gain the knowledge and skills to perform CPR and use an AED prior to the arrival of additional medical assistance.
The content and practical scenarios covered in this course conform with the requirements of safety observers as outlined in AS/NZS 4836:2011 Safe working on or near low-voltage electrical installations and equipment.

Who is this course for?
This course is suitable for those persons undertaking low voltage electrical work and those persons acting as safety observers.

Units of Competency

  • HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • UETTDRRF06 Perform rescue from a live LV panel

Award Issued
Upon successful completion of the assessment requirements of this course, students will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment and wallet card.

Recertification
As per ARC guidelines, CPR refresher recommended annually.

Pre-requisites

  • HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a pre-requisite to UETTDRRF06B Perform rescue from a live LV panel
  • Units of competency will be trained and assessed in this sequence to ensure pre- requisite requirements are achieved.

Pre-entry Requirements
Students must be physically capable of participating in the practical activities and demonstrate a basic level of language, literacy and numeracy.

Delivery Methods
The course content will be delivered in a classroom environment using PowerPoint presentations, video, group discussion and a number of demonstration and skill building activities.

Assessment Methods
Students will be assessed in a practical assessment simulating a rescue scenario.
Underpinning knowledge will be assessed through the use of a theory assessment (containing multiple-choice questions).

Notes
All of our courses are tailored to site policies and procedures. Appropriate clothing is to be worn when attending training including long pants, long shirts and enclosed footwear. PPE specified by the workplace is also to be worn.
